Good Value, Easy To Use, High Quality

I purchased this machine a year ago and have been delighted with it. I found the included DVD very helpful and refer back to it often when trying out new techniques. I was unsure what to expect as was well aware that these machines in general can be difficult to thread, but I can say that after taking the time to watch the video and reading the manual, it's really quite simple. Some areas are tight, but the included tweezers make it much easier. The adjustment dials are well labeled and easy to operate. I've made a point of crating a sample book, using the manual and vid to create samples of different stitches, and settings on a variet of sample fabrics. I feell I'm getting great value for my money with this little machine and it gets used a lot! I love my Singer Serger!

Good Value, Great Features, Easy To Use, High Quality

I have an older Singer serger and chose Singer once again for my new machine. I love it! It does everything I need for my sewing needs. It's easy to use and easy to follow the directions for changing tensions, threads, etc. and you get a great machine for the price.

This is not an easy machine to use, I have had nothing but trouble with it from the beginning. Threading info is very hard to follow, plus the color coding is hard to tell the yellow from the orange. Different shades might have had better results. I bought this machine in 2011, used it twice and now the lower looper broke. I'm trying to purchase a replace part but that is also a hassel to find. Any help would be appreciated.

Poor Quality, Color Coded With The Wrong Looking Colors

First off, the color codes aren't clear as to what the actual colors are supposed to be at first glance. The bottom threads code are supposed to #1 is Orange, but looks Red, & #2 is Yellow, but looks like it's Orange. There's not much to say about the "Spreader" tool that's in the book but where it goes & it doesn't say what it's supposed to used for. I could not get all 4 threads to stitch right the bottom threads were too loose. So, I took out one of the Top threads and it sewed better for alittle while. Now the timing is off and the Tip end of the lower (#1 Orange) looper broke off! Grr! I'm hoping to get this resolved soon. I've only had my machine 2 months & it's Timing is off! A local repair center gave me a quote of $70-$80 to fix & they'd keep it for 2 weeks. I only paid $150 for it. I'm really hoping Singer can help me resolve this issue without spending any more money. I really don't think it was tested properly before it left the factory.
